We understand that visiting a GP practice can sometimes be overwhelming or challenging, particularly for autistic and neurodivergent individuals. At our practice, we’re committed to creating a safe, supportive, and accessible environment for everyone.
We offer a range of adaptations to help make your visit easier:
- Quieter appointment times: With prior notice, we can arrange appointments during quieter periods of the day to reduce noise and crowding.
- Alternative waiting options: You can choose to wait in a quieter area or remain outside until your appointment time, if that feels more comfortable.
- Sensory support: Ear defenders are available on request, and we can dim the lights in the consultation room if that helps make the space more manageable for you.
- Trained team: Our team has received training in supporting neurodivergent patients and understands the importance of a calm, respectful approach.
We also offer telephone appointments if that feels like a better way for you to access care.
Accessing healthcare in a timely way is essential for maintaining health and preventing more serious issues. We’re here to make sure that every patient, including those who are neurodivergent, can receive the care they need in a way that works for them.
If you have specific needs or would like to discuss adjustments in advance, please don’t hesitate to let us know when booking your appointment.
Your comfort, dignity, and wellbeing matter to us.
